Christmas in Lancaster County is a magical time. Our local farms turn into crisp snow white fields, and Lancaster City turns into a show of lights each and every evening. The Hollinger House also joins in on the fun with two 10-foot uniquely decorated Christmas trees, the halls fully decked, and a massive antique sleigh with a Freiman Stoltzfus original painted right on it! We may be biased, but we can’t think of a better place to spread holiday cheer!
One of our favorite Christmas time activities are the Horse Drawn Carriage Rides in Lancaster City. For a romantic night out in the city is there anything better than taking in the sights, sounds, and Christmas lights on the back of a carriage? Plus, you’ll be right in the center of the city, surrounded by the best restaurants in Lancaster County. Rides start outside of Fulton Bank on Penn Square and run each Friday from November 23 to December 28.
For a more modern type of ride, Strasburg Scooters has yet another holiday adventure through the Lancaster County countryside with their Scootin’ With Santa tour. Santa will guide a tour that leads through the back roads of Lancaster “in search of the ever elusive ‘Amish Christmas Lights.’” You’ll get to see Amish farms, schoolhouses, and bridges up close in your 50cc Scoot Coupe upgraded with taller windshields and heaters to keep out that Winter chill. The Scootin’ With Santa tour runs each Saturday and Sunday in December.
The Hollinger House will be hosting holiday events as well! First is the Find Your Belsnickle Christmas Tour, hosted by 15 B&Bs throughout Lancaster County, including us! Each B&B will be dressed in their best Christmas attire, waiting with cookies and a hidden Belsnickle to find. Second is our very first Victorian Christmas Tea on Sunday, December 9. Indulge in a light four course menu paired with three unique teas. And of course the beautiful décor and Christmas cheer throughout The Hollinger House.
