Fall into Lancaster County

Fall at The Hollinger House.

With autumn upon us and the long days of summer “fall”ing back to the shadows, Lancaster County and The Hollinger House Bed & Breakfast truly come into their own as unique, beautiful, and even spooky places to visit for those looking to unwind with some mild weather and colorful foliage. You may even be invited to join us for one of our regular autumn bonfires!

Those looking for adventure will find plenty of it in Lancaster County during the months of September and October. The best way to see the Amish countryside has long been through a tour with Strasburg Scooters, but this autumn they are offering an adventure sure to make you shiver with The Spooky Scoot tour!

Like their other tours, you can cuddle up with your favorite person in their Scoot Coupe and see the Amish farms and landscapes, but now with a dark twist. You’ll be guided through “eerie back roads, making stops to hear local folklore and the lesser known haunted side of Lancaster County.” It sounds like a great way to celebrate Halloween and our favorite month, which we affectionately call “Spooktober.”

If you’re looking for a more relaxed and less spooky activity, Cherry Hill Orchards, only 1 mile from our beautiful B&B, is offering customers an opportunity to pick their own fruit!

All you’ll need are some containers for your bounty and you can take a stroll through acres of gorgeous Lancaster County orchards, stopping as you stroll through for ripe white and yellow peaches, as well as 8 different varieties of apples. When you’re finished in the orchards, you can even stop by their store which features jam, jellies, preserves, and honey as well as some classic Lancaster baked goods.

Your innkeepers, Brandy & Theodore, maintain that autumn is the best time to visit Lancaster County and take in the landscapes, food, and even a bit of the folklore, so get in touch with us soon if you would like to join us for an enchanting season in beautiful Amish country.
